The story begins with a team of four who do paranormal investigations and tours on the side, seeing anomalies occasionally, and well-versed in the equipment of the trade.
An investigation is soon underway which, as the title suggests, is a lockdown at the Amador. The Amador is an historical site and hotel that is experiencing irregularities which are now causing its bookings to suffer. Several events have been ruined by eye-witness accounts which have forced a skeptical admittance to the crew.
The pace goes back and forth between the crew and the preliminary investigations and then proceeds onwards to the investigation of the hotel itself. A little further into the story a side-plot begins to appear. It deals with Hector, (a member of the investigative crew), and his sixteen-year-old troubled son. After years of paying child support and not being able to see his son, Hector is now faced with the trials of renewing contact.
The book is interesting as it explained the tools of the trade for a paranormal investigation and it will surprise you with the adjacent turn it takes further on.
All in all, an engaging book.
