An autobiographical journal of a teenaged, married girl and her struggle to cope with the pregnancy, and subsequent death, of her second child. (This is not a ‘spoiler’ as the book’s cover is candid in this revelation.)
EC writes with an honesty that pierces through the veil of those who have never had to experience the loss of a child. Though most were trying to be helpful, there were some that were outright cruel in their self-righteous opinions, adding heavier tolls to the already too-heavy burdens taxed upon this small, young family.
Her marriage is struggling under the weight of their grief, their only means of support has faded away when her husband loses his job, and she is now suddenly immersed into the ice-cold water of life’s bitter realities that threaten to drown her.
This is a story of a survivor; a girl forging into a woman between the hardened edges of life’s anvil and her determination.
